Yanque Parish

This program was started in the 1970s by a nun from Brooklyn to provide breakfast for the children who go to school hungry and for the elderly in the town of Yanque. From July to September 2016, we organized the warehouse, increased food and clothing donations, improved the daily soup recipe, bought wood to reopen the bakery, and provided seeds for the greenhouses.

We continued communication through the year to provide the food and supplies that were lacking: flowers for the garden, more wood for the bakery, and better ingredients for the breakfast. All of this depended on proper reporting from the team that has run this program for many years, so that we could be sure the resources donated by Urban Angels were used well. We also wanted to see more support from the church, the community, and other organizations.
