2020

COVID-19 food relief

When COVID-19 reached Mexico in 2020, families in the remote communities northwest of San Miguel de Allende lost what little work they had. We formed a team of local community leaders, nine people in all, to bring basic food (rice, beans, lentils, corn, cooking oil, and salt) and critical medicine to 50 to 100 families each week.

Arturo spent a couple of days each week with the local community leaders, identifying the families in greatest need and ordering the right amount of food. Then our team delivered it, often about 1,000 kilos on a single Saturday.
